Should I convert my credit card bill to instalment?

It’s the monthly credit card payment time.

I usually pay in full for every bill.

This time however the credit card app showed me a message offering to convert the bill into an instalment.

I have a Big Ticket item purchase this month for the Samsung Galaxy S10.

According to what I learned from Robert Kiyosaki, it’s okay to go in debt for an asset.

Yes, the S10 is going to be my business equipment.

What concerns me is actually The Upfront service fee of 3% and an effective interest rate of 14.82% per annum.

I am okay with the 3% but not for 14.82%.

So let me give them a call to clarify.

15 minutes later…

So, I called them and I got the clarification.

If I want to convert $600 to a 6-month ininstalment plan, I just have to pay 3% or $18 for the Upfront service fee. The installment will be $100 per month interest-free. I will only be charged the 14.82% if I missed a payment.

So I went ahead with it.

Check out my reviews about the Samsung Galaxy S10.
