Unlocking and Using Tribecar
Here are the steps I did before driving off.
- Locate the car at the designated car park.
- Log into my Tribecar account.
- Look for the green button called Start Trip.
- Click on Start Trip.
- Follow the given instructions to inspect the vehicle.
- Take photos from four different angles.
- Check for exterior damage.
- Record any discrepancies.
- Unlock the car.
- Check the interior.
- Find the remote control… KEEP IT ON HAND (to open the car later).
- Press the brakes and press the start button on the dashboard.
- Insert ERP card.
- Check the remaining rental time.
- Drive.
Be sure to bring along the remote control out of the car at the destination. You will need that to open the doors.
Here’s what I did after driving back.
- Park the car back at the designated lot.
- Click on End Trip.
- Key in the Odometer mileage.
- Ensure I have all my belongings with me.
- Put back the remote control.
- Step outside the car.
- Lock the car.
That’s 3 hours of car rental for S$15 plus S$20 petrol topping up. Overall it’s cheaper than riding Grab Taxi from Punggol all the way to NTU and back to Punggol again.

The Start Trip button…. does it exist before the rental period?
I usually log in within 10 minutes before the rental time and the Start Trip button is there. I haven’t tried logging in any time earlier, so I wouldn’t know.
