…including Site Stats
Is it true that Jetpack slows down our self-hosted WordPress website?
I deactivated my favorite Jetpack features and this is what happened.
Pages that used to take 5 seconds or more to load now take less than 2 seconds.
It’s easy to disable jetpack feature, except Site Stats… the settings are hidden.
How to disable Jetpack features including Site Stats
Step #1 – Log in to our WordPress admin and select Jetpack.

Step #2 – Scroll all the way down the Jetpack page and click on Debug.

Step #3 – Scroll down again and click on “Access the full list of Jetpack modules available on your site.”

Step #4 – Deactivate the features we don’t need. I deactivated most of them except comments, sharing, and subscriptions.

Step #5: Rejoice! Share this post. Leave a comment and subscribe.
Strangely, deactivating Asset CDN, Image CDN, and Lazy Images, the 3 that are suppose to speed up my site, made my pages load faster.
I have no regrets disabling Site Stats, because I have the Google Site Kit plugin.
I love Google Site Kit because I can see the keywords people use to find my site.
Update for December 2020 – I did the same Jetpack adjustments on two of my websites, one is hosted on Hostgator and the other on Bluehost. Hostgator is slower than Bluehost.
