Traveling to China? How to Keep Your Power Bank from Being Confiscated.
Watch on YouTube… https://youtube.com/shorts/zLuI_VTV4aU
If you are planning a solo trip to China, there is one detail about your gear that could save you a lot of trouble at security. While researching for my own trip, I discovered that China has very specific regulations regarding power banks, especially for domestic flights and trains.
If your power bank doesn’t meet their standards, it might be confiscated on the spot. Here is everything I learned and the solution I found to stay powered up.
The “Three Cs” Rule
The most important thing to look for is the China Compulsory Certification (CCC) mark, also known as the “Three Cs”. Because of fire risks, authorities are strict about only allowing certified devices on domestic transport. Even if your power bank was made in China, it still must have this specific mark to pass inspection.
Key Requirements to Remember
To ensure your vlogging equipment makes it through security, keep these rules in mind:
- Wattage Limit: Your power bank must be under 100W.
-
Quantity: You are generally allowed to bring two power banks on board.
-
Certification: The CCC mark must be visible on the device.
My Choice: The Anker Zolo Power Bank
For my vlogging gear and smartphone, I chose the Anker Zolo. It fits all the requirements and has some great features for content creators:
- 20,000 mAh Capacity: It has plenty of power for a full day of shooting.
-
Built-in USB-C Cable: This is a lifesaver because I can charge my phone or camera without carrying extra wires.
-
Fast Charging: It supports fast charging, so I’m never down for long.
-
22.5W Output: Since it is well under the 100W limit, it is perfectly safe for travel.
Being prepared means you can focus on your vlogging and exploring without worrying about your tech being seized.
