Is there a limit to the S$98/m unlimited M1 mobile data plan?
Yes! I found out about this restrictive traffic management policy.
- Traffic Management measures in the form of a speed limit of 1Mbps are applicable for subscribers with excessive data usage.
- This will only impact subscribers who exceed their applicable monthly local data capacity or subscribers on plans with unlimited data and have excessive data usage impacting the efficient management of our network resources.
- Any speed limit imposed will be lifted at 00:00 hours the following day (for unlimited data plans).
I wanted to subscribe to this service for the purpose of live video broadcast streaming… and 1Mbps is miserably slow.

Fact: A Truly Unlimited Data Plan Doesn’t Exist
Here’s an interesting article blasting the sad treatment we receive for paying the unlimited premium price.
Sign up with any unlimited data plan today and you’ll feel like a VIP. You’re paying top dollar. You’re premium. However, the bad news is that when you’ve used your high-speed data past a certain point, your data’s deprioritized — and your data speeds slow down. Sorry, you’ve just been moved to the cheap seats.
