Chili Soft Shell Crab Noodles @ the Asian Kitchen | Friday Food

Dish: Chili Soft Shell Crab Noodles
Restaurant: The Asian Kitchen
Location: Vivocity, Singapore

Highly recommended by the waiter.

First impression: Looked different from the picture in the menu. In the menu, you see the full crab on the noodles. On the real thing, only the top shell is visible. Had to lift the crab up with chopsticks to reveal the whole delicacy. There are two of them.

Gravy surprise: The thick spicy gravy is exactly the same as the famous tasty Singapore chili crab gravy complete with wisps of eggs.

Overall experience: It’s been months since my last soft soft crab, my favorite food. It’s also the first time I’ve seen soft shell crabs served with Singapore chili crab gravy. All that plus hand-made noodles equals a unique experience and satisfying dinner.

PS: The soft shell crabs could have maintained its crispiness and original crabby flavor if it were served separately because the taste of the chili crab gravy covered up everything else.
