First, there’s a mute button, so I can cough silently.
Next, there is the mic volume knob, so I can easily adjust my input levels on the fly.
And right below it is the monitor volume knob, so I can control the volume of my headphones, allowing me to hear myself in real time without delay.
Finally, there’s an echo adjustment knob, so I can add some reverb to my voice… just for fun, I think.
Below the microphone, there is a standard 3.5-millimeter headphone jack, so I can plug in my monitoring headphones.
And next to that is a Type-C port for connecting to my computer or other devices, including the YoloBox.
It’s plug-and-play. You don’t need to install any extra apps or drivers, and no batteries are needed inside the mic.
In this demo, I am plugged into my Android phone, which is recording this video.
And you’ve been hearing my voice through this mic throughout this video, except when it wasn’t plugged in.
I wasn’t expecting studio-quality audio from a phone recording, This definitely stands out on its own.
Pro Tip: For best quality, speak directly into the top of this mic, about 6 inches away, not on the side or far away.
Inside the box, I found the microphone itself, which feels seriously solid.
A foam windscreen is included, so I can keep those plosive “p” and “t” sounds from hitting the mic.
A USB to USB-C cable, which is a good 2 meters long, so I have flexibility in positioning the microphone.
And check this out — they’ve even included a Type-C adapter for Android phones and tablets and a Lightning adapter for older iPhones and iPads.
There is also a sturdy table clamp, a boom arm, and of course, the user manual.
I am definitely using this for my live streams, gaming streams, and sometimes for recordings like this.
