I recently had the opportunity to attend the YouTube Creator SG Community event at the Google office. It was a great experience to meet and network with other YouTubers from Singapore.
The event kicked off with a registration and a chance to mingle with other attendees. There was a lot of excitement in the air as everyone was eager to learn more about how to grow their YouTube channels.
Insights from YouTube Experts
The first presentation was by Vincent, the Strategic Partner Manager. He talked about new trends in fandom, storytelling formats, and tools and technology for creators. He also mentioned that AI is coming to YouTube, which is something to be excited about.
Next, we heard from Kitti, the Music Content Partner Manager. He interviewed two popular YouTube personalities, Dharni and Annette, who shared their tips for success. They emphasized the importance of being consistent, collaborating with others, and experimenting with new ideas.
Growing Globally with YouTube Shorts
After a break for refreshments, we heard from Charu, who spoke about how to grow globally with YouTube Shorts. He shared some valuable tips, such as hooking viewers in the first 3 seconds, editing scenes quickly, and letting visuals tell the story.
Celebrating Ming Wei’s Success
The highlight of the event was the presentation of the Diamond Award to Ming Wei, the first Singapore YouTuber to reach 10 million subscribers. Ming Wei shared his secrets for success, which included breaking the language barrier, using AI to generate new ideas, and posting every day.
