Singapore to Genting

Last minute booking.

Need a coach to Genting Highlands.

Mom recommended WTS, coz pick up is at Punggol MRT. Just walk over there from home.

How much?

WTS is relatively more expensive, S$38 one way, while others are just S$27.

But we save on traveling by cab in the wee hours to the pickup point and from the drop off point.

Peak season pricing?

We have 3 choices of school holiday low seasons 12-16, 18-23, 26-30 December 2016.

I just checked the web on availability.  Looks tight.

If I book Genting Highlands First World Hotel, it will be member non-peak price of S$18 per night for a room with wifi.

If I book a package from WTS, it will be S$93 per pax.

S$76 plus S$18 equals S$94… so it’s about the same if I book the room and coach separately.

Woah! Just checked Genting Rooms. Prices have gone up over S$100!

Let’s rush down to WTS at Waterway Point, coz they don’t pick up phones nor answer emails.

30 minutes later…

Checked with the staff at the counter to calculate the Genting package for 5 pax, 2 rooms, and 3D2N.

Gosh! Instead of S$500, it’s S$750!

According to them, Genting just raised the price with surcharges.

That wouldn’t happen if we booked earlier.

OK. Plan B…
