Things to do before disposing old laptops

1. Backup data and files to external hard drives or to the cloud like Google Drive, iCloud, Dropbox.
2. De- authorise, deactivate or sign out from all registered programs.
3. Destroy sensitive files permanently using Ccleaner, File Shredder, or Eraser. Empty trash.
4. Remove other user and guest accounts.
5. Delete internet browser history using Ccleaner.
6. Uninstall every program you have installed. They may most likely contain your personal information including the email and credit card number you have used to purchase them. Download and install Absolute Uninstaller to uninstall multiple programs at once.
7. Reformat your hard drive.
