What is Dalgona Coffee?

Dalgona Coffee is milk topped with sweet foamed coffee. It’s the reverse of cappuccino.

Dalgona Coffee Origin

The drink originated from India, Pakistan, and Macau,

It is also known as whipped coffee or beaten coffee.

It became popular when it appeared on a Korean TV show called Pyunstorang in January 2020.

Korean actor Jung Il-Woo traveled to Macau, tried the drink, and gave it the nickname dalgona.

In Korea, Dalgona is a traditional Korean sponge candy of the same name.

Dalgona Coffee Recipe

Ingredients:

  1. Instant Coffee – 2 tablespoons
  2. Sugar – 2 tablespoons
  3. Water – 2 tablespoons
  4. Milk – 1 Cup

Instructions:

  • Mix equal amounts of coffee, sugar, and water into a bowl.
  • With a mixer or by hand, whip the mix until it turns frothy.
  • Pour the creamy coffee froth over the cup of milk.
