HP Envy X360 Laptop Black Friday Deal in Singapore Challenger

I checked out the Black Friday sale at Challenger online computer store and ordered this.

The HP ENVY x360 7RA10PA R7-3700U (16GB RAM,1TB SSD Vega 10)…

It’s a convertible flippable touch screen laptop.

Priced at S$1,449 and the usual price is S$1,849.

Is it good? I have never checked this model up before. Let’s take a look at the specs.

I was captured by the 16 MB RAM offer and the one terabyte SSD.

So the processor is the AMD Ryzen 7.
What is AMD Ryzen 7 as compared with Intel?

The AMD Ryzen 7 is the equivalent to Intel i7. It is slower than i7 but has more value… that means the amount you pay extra for the i7 is not worth the extra speed.

What about the integrated GPU, the AMD Radeon Vega 10?

So Vega 10 is designed to make gameplay smoother… Light gameplay.
Now that sounds interesting!

Up to here, I am sold. A high power convertible laptop at a value price.

Now, let’s check out other specs.
Wow, it has got an 88-degree webcam.

That’s very wide! But is it 1080p or the usual 720p? The answer is 720p.

It has got quad speakers. Probably means it will sound good in both configurations… As a normal laptop and as a tent. The speakers are by Bang and Olufsen.

The screen is 1920 * 1080. Perfect for video screen recording and presentation.

No HDMI output. There is a display port though. So I will need a converter.

Can I charge it with a portable power bank? Yes via the USBC port… https://store.hp.com/us/en/tech-takes/3-different-ways-to-charge-laptop-without-charger

Anyway, it’s added to cart.

PS:

More questions…

When was this model released? The HP ENVY x360 7RA10PA R7-3700U… It seems like this model is exclusive to Challenger store. The earliest model that appeared on the web was in the year 2019.

Then there are newer models released in 2020 with many variations in the type of processor and memory configurations.

Also, there is the x364 with the HP Pavilion, the HP Spectre.

What is the difference between HP Pavilion, HP Spectre, and HP Envy?

“In general, the main difference between these series of laptops is their overall build quality. The HP Spectre range as a whole is going to be of better quality than the HP Envy range. And then, the HP Envy range is going to be better than the HP Pavilion range.” – https://spacehop.com/hp-envy-vs-spectre-vs-pavilion/
