How to Talk to Yourself in a Video using Capcut Mobile Video Editing App

In this Capcut Mobile Edit tutorial, I document how I make myself talk to myself in a video.

First, I position myself on one side of the screen. Record myself talking to my imaginary self. Then pretend to listen to the reply.

Next I position myself on the other side of the screen. Pretend to listen to my first self and reply.

  1. Open Capcut and start a new project.
  2. Select the recording and tap on Add.
  3. Move the timeline to the part where I switch from one side to the other side. Split the clip at that point.
  4. While the second half of the clip is selected choose Overlay.
  5. Move the overlay clip under the first clip.
  6. While the overlay clip is selected choose Mask. Select split mask.
  7. Adjust the mask to reveal the other side.

Adjust the timing. Trim away the unwanted parts. Then play back and watch!
