Here’s the step-by-step breakdown:
-
First, record yourself holding something. Pretend to make it explode and remove it.
-
Open CapCut and start a new project. Select the recording and tap on “Add”.
-
Move the timeline to where the object will explode. Select the clip in the timeline and choose “Freeze”.
-
Trim away the part where the object is removed.
-
Select the freeze frame clip and apply “Overlay”. Duplicate five layers off the freeze frame and lay them over each other.
-
Start from the bottom layer, and apply “Remove BG” and “Custom Removal”. Select “Brush” and paint over one piece of the object. Repeat this on each layer for a different piece.
-
Now start from the bottom layer again. Add a keyframe at the beginning. Go to the other end and move the piece out of the screen. Repeat this step for every piece.
Ta-da! You’ve made an explosive masterpiece!
