Capcut Three Clones

What you’ll need:

Step-by-Step Guide

  1. Plan Your Shots: Think about how you want your clones to interact. Then, map out three distinct positions for yourself in the frame (Ex: sitting close to the camera, standing to the left, standing to the right).

  2. Record Yourself:

    • Clone #1: Start recording and act out your first part.
    • Clone #2: Walk to the second position without moving the camera and continue acting.
    • Clone #3: Repeat the process for your third position.
  3. Launch CapCut:

    • Open the CapCut app and begin a new project.
    • Import your recorded video.
  4. Split Your Footage:

    • Move the timeline to where your first clone’s actions end. Select the clip and tap “Split”.
    • Move the timeline again to where your second clone’s actions begin and perform another “Split”.
    • Find the walking segments between your clone positions and delete them.
  5. Isolate Clone #1

    • Select the first clip (Clone #1).
    • Tap “Overlay”.
    • Select the Clone #1 overlay clip.
    • Choose the “Remove BG” tool and then “Auto Removal.”
  6. Isolate Clone #3, Layer, and Reveal

    • Split then select the third clip (Clone #3).
    • Repeat the overlay addition process from Step 5.
    • Drag the overlay to align Clone #3 under the previous versions.
    • Apply “Mask” and choose the “Horizontal Mask” option.
    • Rotate the mask for a smooth reveal of Clone #2 and Clone #3.
    • Select your Clone #1 clip, go to “Layer” and set it as the second layer.

That’s a Wrap!
