Harbin Tour Review

Booked a Harbin week-long tour package in December 2023.

First things first, what to wear in Harbin Winter?

Bing AI gave me this recommendation.

Harbin, located in the northeastern part of China, experiences extremely cold winters. The average monthly temperature during winter ranges from -25℃ (-13℉) to 3℃ (37.4℉). The lowest temperature can even drop to about -30℃ (-22℉), and the historical lowest was -37.7℃ (-35.86℉).

Given these temperatures, here are some suggestions for winter wear:

  1. Thermal Underwear: Start with a good base layer of thermal underwear that can keep you warm and wick away moisture.
  2. Insulated Clothing: Wear insulated pants, sweaters, or turtlenecks for your middle layer.
  3. Winter Coat: An insulated winter coat or down jacket is a must. It’s better if it’s waterproof.
  4. Accessories: Don’t forget a hat, gloves, scarves, and earmuffs. They provide extra warmth.
  5. Footwear: Insulated, waterproof boots are essential to keep your feet warm and dry.
  6. Socks: Wear thermal socks. Consider wearing two pairs of socks if one pair is not warm enough.
  7. Heat Packs: Carry portable heat packs for extra warmth.

Remember, it’s easier to stay warm than to get warm, so it’s better to over-dress than under-dress. Stay safe and enjoy your trip! 😊

Earmuffs and gloves are provided in the tour package.

Let’s hunt for the rest of the clothing and accessories.

We might get some from Decathlon.

The blog continues… stay tuned!
