Changing Chrome Android Tabs to Grid Layout on Samsung Galaxy S10

Can you change how opened tabs are displayed on Google Chrome Android?

Here’s how I changed mine to the grid style.

I prefer the grid layout just like firefox mobile and even on iPhone Chrome because I can see the opened websites at a glance.

Why is the grid layout not available on the Samsung Galaxy S10 in June 2019?

I don’t know but I found a secret way to turn it on.

  1. Go to Chrome app on the phone.
  2. In the address bar, type in “chrome://flags”.
  3. Type ” tab” in the search box.
  4. Choose “Tab Grid Layout”.
  5. Tap on ” Relaunch Now”.
  6. Close Chrome app.
  7. Open Chrome app.

Rearrange Tab Position

Now I wish I can rearrange the tab position which I read is possible on Android tablets but not on phones (update September 2020: this is possible now)

  1. I dislike the grid layout. I prefer the cards for one handed browsing. I hope Samsung doesn’t force the feature on users like Chrome did.
