[225]🫨 Portable Laptop Stand from Shopee SG Below S$5

I recently went on Shopee and bought a generic folding laptop stand for exactly S$2.18. My goal wasn’t actually to use it for my laptop, but I decided to do a live unboxing and put it to the test anyway.

Here is why this ultra-cheap piece of plastic ended up being a massive win for my daily workflow.

The Laptop Test: A Wobbly Fail

During my recent live stream, I tested the stand straight out of the box. It is essentially an adjustable X-frame made entirely of lightweight plastic. It comes with a sheet of DIY silicone rubber pads that you stick on yourself to prevent your devices from slipping.

The manufacturer claims it can hold up to 15kg. However, when I placed my 15-inch laptop on it and started typing, it immediately struggled. The whole frame wobbled, and pressing anywhere near the top of the screen made it feel like the entire setup was going to tip over.

If you need a reliable stand for a heavy laptop, this is not the one.

The Real Use Case: Streamlining the YoloBox Extreme

I didn’t buy this stand for a laptop. I bought it to solve a very specific problem with my YoloBox Extreme.

The YoloBox is my primary live streaming switcher, and because it is a touchscreen, I need it positioned right in front of me when I am broadcasting. The problem is that when the stream is over, the YoloBox sits right in the middle of my desk, getting in the way of my keyboard and monitor when I need to focus on CapCut workflows or writing.

This S$2.18 stand provided the exact solution I needed:

  • The Angle: I set the bracket to its lowest 50-degree incline, which is the perfect viewing angle for a touchscreen monitor.

  • The Modification: I stuck the silicone pads on the top brackets to hold the YoloBox securely, but I intentionally left the pads off the bottom of the stand.

  • The Result: Because the bottom is smooth plastic, the entire rig now slides effortlessly across my desk. When I am ready to stream, I pull the YoloBox out. When I am done, I push it straight back, and it slides perfectly out of sight underneath my main computer monitor.

Clear Desk, Clear Mind

For less than the price of a cup of coffee, I built a retractable mounting system for my live-streaming gear. Now, my desk stays clear for my deep work sessions, and my broadcast gear is always accessible when I need it.

And if you want to grab one of these plastic stands to try this sliding setup for your own tablet or streaming gear, here is where I found it: [https://s.shopee.sg/9Uxd1VwtGC]
