How to Eject a Stuck Disc from MacBook Pro

I burned six discs for a client this morning and the sixth one got stuck.

There was a burn failure error message but no Disc icon or eject button.

Tried several ways, including banging, and discovered three simple steps.

1. Shut down.
2. Click and hold touchpad.
3. Turn on.

The disc popped out from the drive and I continued working happily ever after.
