The Bukit Merah Central office unit is almost bare.

The office moving out sale was a runaway success. Most buyers came from the same building.

What’s left is what I will bring over to my new SOHO in Punggol.

The next step is to rent a van and get some helping hands to move boxes.

Nostalgic! It’s been 5 years since I last shot and edited a wedding video.

These days I turn down requests, but this offer I could not refuse… A wedding in Phuket Thailand!

Furthermore, it’s a request from a corporate client who trusted my work and willing to pay the right price.

Anyway, it’s the wedding of the client’s own daughter and they being professional PR and event organizers, the weekend party was a memorable experience.

I was glad my skills were still intact… catching the right moment at the right time intuitively and editing a highlight masterpiece with express speed.

So, will I come back to the wedding scene?

Only if the location and offer is attractive.

Day two of moving out sale.

I realised that it was not only physically exhausting, but also emotionally draining.

On the one hand, i was sad to see the items that had been with me for years go into somebody else’s hands.

On the other, I was happy that the items were given a second lease of life instead of meeting the dump.

So in day 2 of the office moving out sale, I could see more walking space as things move out rapidly.

To get over my emotional drain… Breathe…

In less than 30 days, I will no longer walk to my Bukit Merah Central office.

The lease ends on 31 May 2013.

I will be working from home or anywhere else from then on.

So, I managed to squeeze the whole lot of green screen studio into a mid-sized luggage.

Inside, you will find:
1. 2 sheets of 5 x1 meter green fabric.
2. Sticky tapes to hold the sheets to the wall.
3. 2 sets of studio lights with stands.
4. 1 spare lamp.
5. 1 extension power cord for the lights.
6. 1 wall power socket adapter.
7. 1 LED light as back light.
8. 12 spare AA batteries for the LED light and Sennheiser wireless microphone.
9. 1 pair of Sennheiser wireless microphones.
10. 1 Panasonic AG-HMC151 professional camcorder.
11. 1 Spare battery for the camcorder.
12. 2 pairs of earphones.
13. 1 brolly.
14. 1 disposable raincoat.
15. 1 Joby gorilla pod.
16. 1 Velbon tripod.

You can pack these in hard cases or stack them on a trolley and let hotel security chase you to the loading bay.

OR…

Pack them in a luggage and have every hotel staff rushing toward you to offer their help.

So I arrived at Hyatt Hotel to meet the client.

And you know what?

The room given to us was so well decorated that there was no need to use the green screen. There was everything we needed to shoot a great video.

So, after all that squeezing stuff into the luggage, the mobile green screen studio was never activated.

But it’s ok… I traveled in style.

This is the final day of its existence.

I will be ripping and tearing it down in a short while.

It had been the backdrop of many influential personalities, like the former beauty queen of Singapore, the number one super affiliate and others.

Oh, don’t be sad…

It will be resurrected immediately, as in tomorrow afternoon, as a mobile version.

Yes! A mobile green screen studio. Have screen will travel!

So off I go now… “Rip and Tear” (double meaning this rip and tear is… Go figure)

The equipment I carried was the burden.

So every night for the past 3 nights, I repacked my gear based on the requirement of the day.

I made sure I travelled light, yet have everything including backups.

Today, it’s only a haversack and a black soft bag to carry the camera with one hand.

Unlike driving, there was a lot of waiting …a good excuse to blog.

Had to transfer by a shuttle bus to the hotel in Sentosa from Vivocity.

Though it’s a 5-star hotel that provided free mini-bus in and out of the island, I had to sit on the steps of the shopping mall to wait (see image).

Complains aside, I enjoyed moving around like most locals do. It felt like traveling as …a tourist …a foreigner …an explorer. Anyway, I have been walking overseas pulling a luggage full of videography hardware.

One thing I wished to change (other than getting that new car) was to have a smaller video camera and and a lighter video editing laptop.
