Wounded by a Knackered oBike | Day 5 of 30-day Blogging Challenge

The beginning of the long weekend starts off with a bicycle adventure to Singapore’s Coney Island.

(It’s a holiday, so I am not giving myself tasks to complete like yesterday and the days before in this self-imposed 30-day blogging challenge.)

So we are exploring 2 things today, oBike and Coney Island.

Actually, there are another 2 more I am exploring, vlogging the Panasonic Lumix FZ2500 and the GoPro Hero5 Black with the head strap.

Blood spilled along the way, hence the title “Wounded by a Knackered oBike”.

LESSON #1

How to Sort Project Bin Clips by Creation Date in Adobe Premiere Pro CC 2017

So I shot our Coney Island adventure with 2 cameras, The Panasonic Lumix FZ2500 and the GoPro Hero5 Black.

After I imported them into Adobe Premiere Pro, I want to just drag and drop everything onto the timeline.

However, there is a problem. The clips are arranged with the Hero5 shots first followed by the FZ2500 shots.

I switched between the two cameras every now and then, so I have to manually rearrange the order during editing.

Is there a way to automatically sort them in the Project Bin based on the clip creation date?

This is a vlog, so every shot is created one after another in the correct sequence of the actual event.

This way, when we select all the clips in the Project Bin and drag them onto the timeline, the GoPro and Panasonic shots will be arranged in the correct order.

Here’s how to do it. We have to do a one-time setup.

1. Select Assembly workspace.
2. Select List View in the Project Bin. 
3. Right-click on the title “Name”.
4. Click on “Metadata Display…”. 
5. Inside Metadata Display dialog box, open up “Basic” options, select “Creation Date” and click “Ok”. 
6. Go back to the Project Bin, scroll the metadata all the way to the right, click on “Creation Date”. The clips will now be arranged in the order based on the time is was shot. 
7. Finally, and happily, select all the clips in the project bin and drag them onto the timeline. Every clip between the Lumix and the action camera will be arranged as they should be in a vlog sequence.
